All sexually active females should receive a smear test once every three years the gov provides a smear test once a year for all females over 30years of age as a health protection service.

before your smear test on the day before your test please do not bathe or douse the vagina or use vaginal suppositories do not engage in sexual activity the night before and avoid taking the test during your menstrual period.
